Festival Of Thump

Just got back from Deus' Festival of Thump. Nice crowd, nice bikes and nice atmosphere.
Here are some pics I took:

From the evolution motor sport stand.

Check out their web site here!

A bit of Art.

Bikes are like people's wives!

Small bike. Big Fun. Honda Monkey!

Plenty showed up.

Won't be a celebration without these SRs.

Remove only after paint heals!

....but I don't sit with my legs.

"Have bike, will surf." Deus does surf boards now. Rightttteous!

Some guy turned up on this. Shiny and rusty, at the same time!

Sick of looking. Let's go ride em'.

Past Norton Ads

Here are some vintage ads from Norton;

Stock Classic Commando

Well, Deus has got their greasy hands on this 1975 Norton 850 Commando.
Here are a few pics:
This is the MkIII with electric start, dual carb, twin disc, left side gear change and 51 ponies with a top speed of 180km.

Deus also mentioned that it has 8620 original miles on the dial. I think that works out to be around 247 miles per year over the 35 year life the bike has lived so far? No wonder it is in such a good condition.

$19950 onroad.

Truly one of a kind pieces of functional arts, RESPECT.

Brembo Helmets?!

Brembo, the legendary company known around the world for their brake systems, has teamed up with Italian helmet company New Max (The same company who worked with Momo Design) to create a new line of safety helmets.
What is so special about these helmets? It is something called the AFB or the Automatic Fit Belt fastening system.

Here are some pics from the Brembo site:
As you can see there will be an open face and full face option.
For more info please visit the Brembo site.

Here is a couple of clips off youtube with a little demo on how the AFB system works.

Very innovative.

I like the full face version with the large visor for good visibility.

As you can see from the first clip, Europe and Japan will get their paws on these first. Availability in Australia? Well, a few months ago, whilst I was getting some stuff from Sable & Argent, I got chatting to their staff and was told that they were working to getting these helmets into Australia. I haven't check back since but if you live in Australia, there might be hope yet.
